Allison!!!


Hello Ladies! I'm so excited to have some motivation to get something done!!! My goals are the same as yours...except my baby is now almost 2.  Oops!  Where does the time go?  I'm going to do some checking to see what I 'should' weigh with my height and body type so I'm not exactly sure what my exact weight goal is.  But I'll get there.  Mostly, I just want a lifestyle change, learn to eat better and work out a bit!  So I'm up for going to the gym with any of you if you want to go!

Here's where I'm at:

Weight: 144
Waist:  32    
Hips/Bum:  41 & a quarter
Legs:  24 & a half
Bust (oh wait, that disappeared after nursing):  36
Arms: 11

Aren't setting goals fun??
I'm a BIG fan of setting goals:) I'm just as big of a fan of setting goals with friends:) Love them goals. My goal is to lose 18lbs. I met with a Sports Nutritionist recently and he recommended that I lose this much weight to be a lean mean fighting machine. When he weighed me, I was SHOCKED that I let myself gain 20 pounds! It is so freaking easy to let yourself go! What's important is that we get back on track. About 2 years ago is when I fell off the wagon, or maybe my metabolism just decided to take a nap. I've got some seriously overweight aunts that constantly tell me that I look just them when they were young...it absolutely haunts me every time they say this. Not just because they are barbarian sized but they also remind my hubby of a comic book villain. So then I got my Personal Training license. That is def helping and I absolutely LOVE training. I'm in better shape then I've been in for years but the weight still must go. Biggest loser here we come!! I'm attacking this weight and I WILL conquer.

The Beginning

Hello! My name is Tara Nelson. Let's start off with the stats:

Like Brit, I just had a baby (6 months ago!) and keep telling myself that my hips have yet to move back. I've begun to realize that even if my hips are here to stay, I've got some fat to lose and toning to do! I want to get rid of my muffin top, become overall more lean and tone. I plan to do this by lots of swimming, walking and strength exercises. I really want to get rid of the excess in my mid section! I've found that having a baby gives me a lot of reasons not to work out... so this competition will push me to workout even more! Good luck everyone!!

The Journey Begins

Hello fellow contestants!  My name is Hillary and I feel so blessed to be sharing my weight loss journey with all of you.  I have struggled with my weight my whole adult life.  Its been a source of constant frustration for me and I am hoping by doing this contest I can leave that frustration behind once and for all!  I have been exercising for many years and have been successful in loosing weight but I have recently hit a plateau.  My goals are probably the same as most of you.  I want to loose weight first and foremost.  I would also like to increase my strength and stamina and overall health.  I want to be my best self and I know with your help and support I can reach my goals!!  I look forward to getting to know all of you!!

Ok here is my "before" pic
Weighing-in at 135 lbs.
My goal is to not have muffin top on my pants and to lose 17 lbs
and look like I did in this pic.  I grew up dancing and playing sports so I feel like I've always been in-shape.  But I always carried some extra poundage.  About five years ago, I started teaching fitness classes and I grew out of my baby fat. At my thinnest, I probably weighed about 115.  I would love to get close to that again :)

Weekly Meetings and weigh-in's

Hello ladies!! My name is Brooke Anderson, I'm going to be participating in this contest and I am also hosting our weekly meetings. I have offered to hold the meetings at Citrus & Sage, my husband and I own The Crepery inside Citrus & Sage and pay enough rent to warrant weekly meetings:) Our weekly meetings will consist of weigh-in's (opt), nutritional lessons, fitness guidance, and simply to support one another. I will post weekly to let you all know what the topic is for the week. Tomorrow we will be doing a weigh in for whomever is interesting in being accountable to the group:) If you would rather weigh yourself, no biggy. We will also be discussing tips and tricks of healthy weight loss...tomorrow's meeting will take place at 1pm. If you can't make it and want to weigh yourself then call or text me 435-720-0916 and I'll meet you at C & S to weigh you. Meetings will take place at different times during the week, so check in regularly with the blog to see if you can make it. Thanks!!

Awesome New Prizes!

My boss at the Sports Academy in Logan has been gracious enough to give free 1 month passes to all of our contestants who are not already members!
I'll be giving him a list of names on Sept. 2nd and that is when you can start going!  (Go to the membership office when you get there)-- you need to do an intro post on the 1st in order to get your name on the list.

He also has offered to give one person a free boot camp session!
So I'm thinking of doing something a little bit different for this one.
Everyone measure their hips, waist, and thighs and then e-mail me the measurements.(brittsbigloser@gmail.com)  The person who loses the most inches in the 2 months wins the bootcamp prize!

Also, fellow contestants have offered to donate prizes like massages, Mary-Kay, Sentsy, private pilates lessons, and more!
Those contestants will pick a contest for us to participate in to win the prizes, so check in on the blog often!

Welcome!

I'm so excited that you've come to my blog and want to join the contest! This is how it will work.....

It starts September 1st and ends November 1st.
There is a $10 entry fee.( the winner gets everyone's entry fees)
The person who loses the biggest percentage of their starting weight will win!
When you e-mail me, I'll give you the blog password so you can create posts.  When you join, you need to post a "before" pic and your starting weight. (Don't worry, we are all friends!)
Then keep us updated with your progress with posts. If you can post weekly, that would be great!
(No boys allowed cuz they lose weight faster and it's not fair!)
We will be sharing healthy recipes, doing give-aways, and having a personal trainer on the blog giving us tips!

I decided to do this because I had a baby 7 months ago and gained a whopping 43 pounds! For someone who is not even 5'3, that is A LOT! Now it's time to shed the weight! I could try to do it alone, but I thought this would be a lot more fun and it's a good way to help keep each other motivated! Even if you only have a couple pounds you want to lose, of just want to get in to shape, you should join in cuz we're gonna be sharing tips and organizing group work-outs. I'm pretty excited and I hope you are, too!
